Dr. P. K. Choudhury
Dr. P. K. Choudhury graduated with B. Pharmacy (1982), M. Pharmacy (1984) with specialization in Pharmaceutics and Doctorate (1991) from Department of Pharmaceutics, Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. He had a brief stint in a Pharmaceutical Industry after his Masters. A recipient of B.H.U. Gold Medal for securing first position in M. Pharmacy examination, he was conferred Dr. H. N. Mitra award by the Indian Pharmaceutical Association, West Bengal branch in 1985. A Post Doctoral fellow from The School of Pharmacy, University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand, he had the privilege to pursue his research under the guidance of Prof Ian G. Tucker, Dean of School and Dr Majid Razzak, eminent scientists in the field of Pharmacy.
Dr. Choudhury is actively engaged in research and teaching for the last 30 years and has till date supervised12 students for their Doctoral degree, all of whom are well placed in their respective fields. He has published more than 60 research papers in various International and National Journals of repute with the highest Impact factor of 7.372( in the year 2009) and presented papers in various scientific conferences.
He has attended 7 conferences abroad and his work appreciated in each forums. He has written a book titled “A handbook on Microsphere Drug Delivery System for antidiabetic agents” published by Lambert Academic Publishing, Germany.
He has chaired many Scientific sessions at Indian Pharmaceutical Congress and several Annual Conventions of Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (A.P.T.I.) and delivered invited lectures on topicsranging from the recent trends in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Ophthalmic delivery systems, GMP, Osmotic pumps or Novel Drug Delivery Systems at various Universities.
Dr. Choudhury has worked abroad on various assignments. Besides his post doctoral exposure at University of Otago, New Zealand, he visited University of Auckland and University of Christchurch as part of research training, and also worked as Pharmacy Coordinator at Fiji School of Medicine, Suva, Fiji Islands. He undertook visits to James Cook University, Townsville, Melbourne, Australia and University of Sydney for various academic and researchinteractions, being the Chairman of the Pharmacy and Poison Board (PPB), Fiji Islands. As a representative of W.H.O. for South Pacific Countries,he has toured many countries to verify the adequacy of facilities, personnel etc.and interacted with the members of the Ministry of Education for most of the 24 South Pacific countries. He was instrumental in modifying guidelines for proper distribution of essential medicines, as part of WHO initiatives, to these countries.
Dr. Choudhury is among the subject expert in National Board of Accreditation (N.B.A.), NAAC and member of various statutory Committees of the Central and State Government. Besides being in the editorial board of many peer reviewed scientific journals, he is a life member of Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (A.P.T.I.) and Controlled Release Society (CRS) U.S.A.
Dr. Choudhury worked as Professor and Head, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences,

Member, Board of Management, Mohan lal Sukhadia University, Udaipur
Besides being part of various statutory committees of the State Government and or different Universities.
Presently, he is working as The Dean, Faculty of Pharmacy, PAHER University, Udaipur after his superannuation.
